Case study one: object K.0050

When starting an object analysis, first observations generally relate to the overall aspect of the object, such as the materials used. K.00504 (Figure 10.1 to 10.4)5 is in a good conservational state and made of dense material. As such, it is possible not only to look at it, but also to touch, handle, and lift the object without damaging it. The object is made of one piece of wood, a dense type, which one gathers from the weight of the object when attempting to lift it. The weight and shape of the object show that it has been made from the trunk of a large tree.
